Lowell Narcisse, Jr.

Former St. James quarterback Lowell Narcisse, Jr. is leaving the LSU football program, the redshirt sophomore announced Tuesday on Twitter.

The 6-foot-2, 240-pound dual threat has dropped out of the competition for the LSU starting quarterback job. Sophomore Myles Brennan and Ohio State graduate transfer Joe Burrow remain in the race while junior Justin McMillan, who graduated earlier this month, also ponders transferring.

Narcisse suffered a pair of knee ligament injuries during his high school career but the left-hander was one of the top dual-threat QBs nationally in 2017.

If Narcisse transfers to another FBS school, he will have to sit out the 2018 season. He could be eligible immediately if he transfers to a FCS school or a junior college.
