Louisiana Tech’s Cole McConnell named Conference USA Hitter of the Week

RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech’s Cole McConnell was named the Conference USA Hitter of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.

Senior Cole McConnell, in the last four games, went 8-for-17 at the plate while having eight RBI. McConnell went 3-for-4 against McNeese State with two RBI and two doubles. The Texas native, McConnell picked up his third home run of the season against Army. He went 1-for-4 against Army and helped extend Tech’s lead and win the game for the Bulldogs.

McConnell is batting .367 with eight RBI and 11 hits on the season. He becomes only the 16th Bulldog in program history to earn this weekly award.

Louisiana Tech will be at home with a two-game mid-week home series against Xavier, with the first pitch at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
