Lady Lions take down Wichita State, 64-36

WICHITA, Kan. – The reigning Southland Conference champion Southeastern Louisiana University women’s basketball team secured a 64-36 victory Tuesday evening over Wichita State in the Charles Koch Arena.

Southeastern (4-3) held Wichita State (3-4) to seven points in the first quarter and held a 26-18 advantage over the Shockers at halftime behind senior Hailey Giaratano.

The Ponchatoula native had yet another solid performance with 15 points and six rebounds to lead the Lady Lions in scoring. Giaratano impacted the game in every category also adding in three assists to push Southeastern’s lead.

Southeastern went on a 10-0 run early in the fourth quarter to put the game away.

Taylor Bell contributed 12 points and eight rebounds for SLU. Allasia Washington was another key performer for Southeastern ending the night with 11 points and five rebounds.

The Lady Lions will return to action Thursday afternoon at Kansas.
