LA Tech’s Corona named to D1 Baseball’s Top 50 Catchers list
RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech catcher Jorge Corona named to D1 Baseball Top 50 Catchers. This list highlighted the Top 50 Catchers across the nation in NCAA Baseball.
Corona, a two-time All-Conference USA catcher, made the list at the number 21 spot. The Miami native Corona led the team in doubles hit last year with 18 and tied for third-most in CUSA. While leading the team in doubles, Corona averaged .282/.513/.387 (BA/SLG/OBP) last season.
LA Tech opens the season with a four-game series against Northern Colorado at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park. The first pitch on Opening Day is set for 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16.
