Boston Scott

RUSTON, La. – Third-year pro Boston Scott caught the game-winning touchdown in Philadelphia’s 22-21 comeback victory over the Giants on Thursday Night Football.

With less than a minute remaining in Thursday’s contest, quarterback Carson Wentz stepped up in the pocket and lofted a pinpoint pass to Scott on a wheel route for the 18-yard score. Scott tallied 34 total yards on the 71-yard game-winning drive for the Eagles, who overcame an 11-point deficit with 6:17 remaining in the game to record the victory.

Due to lead back Miles Sanders sitting out with an injury, Scott assumed a major role in Thursday’s win, logging a season-high 56 offensive snaps. The former Bulldog amassed 92 total yards on 15 total touches, including catching three passes for 46 yards. Scott ripped off seven touches for more than five yards in Thursday’s win, gaining 10 yards or more on all three receptions.

Scott has now recorded three games with 40 or more total snaps. He has amassed 374 total yards this season – 167 on kickoff returns, 113 on the ground and 94 from catching the ball out of the backfield.

The former ‘Dog’s performance adds to a stretch of impressive games against the New York Giants. In two games against the Giants in 2019, the 5-foot-6-inch running back churned out 113 rushing yards on 29 attempts, caught 10 passes for 153 yards and recorded four rushing touchdowns.

See how other former Bulldogs are contributing to their professional squads below. All stats are updated through Oct. 26.

Jaylon Ferguson, LB, Baltimore Ravens

After a close win over the Eagles on the road, the Ravens enjoyed a bye this past weekend. Ferguson has tallied 12 total tackles, three tackles for a loss, a sack, a fumble recovery and two hits on the quarterback through six games this season. Ferguson has increased his percentage of snaps played on defense in three straight games, playing 30 snaps on defense against the Eagles. The former Bulldog’s team will host its bitter rival, the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers, on Sunday in M&T Bank Stadium. A victory on Sunday would catapult the Ravens into first place in the AFC North.

Xavier Woods, S, Dallas Cowboys

Woods played 100% of defensive snaps for the seventh straight game to start the season in a 25-3 loss to the Washington Football Team. The former Bulldog made two total tackles on Sunday – one solo and one assisted. The Dallas safety ranks third on the Cowboys’ roster with 37 total tackles, trailing just Jaylon Smith and Joe Thomas for the team lead.

L’Jarius Sneed, CB, Kansas City Chiefs

Sneed was placed on the injured reserve after suffering a collarbone injury in Kansas City’s win over Baltimore on Sept. 28. Sneed will be eligible to return to the field this season when his collarbone heals. The former ‘Dog’s two interceptions still rank tied for fifth in the NFL despite missing the past three games. The Chiefs knocked off the Broncos in Denver on Sunday 43-16.

Amik Robertson, CB, Las Vegas Raiders

Robertson made an appearance on special teams on Sunday in a 45-20 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The rookie played two snaps on special teams, which was his first time appearing in a game without taking a snap on defense. The 2020 fourth-round draft selection made his NFL debut on Oct. 4 against the Bills.

Jeff Driskel, QB, Denver Broncos

Driskel did not see game action in Sunday’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The former Bulldog has completed 35-of-64 passes for 432 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions so far this season. He’s also carried the ball six times for 28 yards on the ground in three appearances and one start so far this season.

Trent Taylor, WR, San Francisco 49ers

Taylor tallied nine total snaps – three on offense and six on special teams – in a dominant 33-6 win over the Patriots in Foxborough. The former ‘Dog has earned 12 targets through his first six games this season, making six catches for 45 yards so far this season.

Justin Ellis, DT, Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens enjoyed a bye this past weekend. Ellis played a season-high 33 defensive snaps in a win over the Eagles on Oct. 18. The veteran defensive tackle tallied one solo stop in the victory over Philadelphia, bringing his season total to two total tackles this year. Baltimore will host its bitter rival, the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers, on Sunday in M&T Bank Stadium.

Jordan Mills, OT, Dallas Cowboys

Mills joined the Dallas practice squad on Sept. 29. The former LA Tech offensive lineman played for the Cowboys in 2015 and has spent time with the Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals during his seven-year NFL career. Mills has played in 90 NFL games, starting 48 straight games for the Bills from 2016-18.
