LA Tech announces future FCS opponents

RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech officials announced the scheduling of three FCS opponents to the team’s 2020, 2021 and 2022 schedules on Wednesday afternoon. The Bulldogs will play Prairie View A&M on Sept. 19, 2020, Southeastern Louisiana on Sept. 11, 2021 and Stephen F. Austin on Sept. 10, 2022 all at Joe Aillet Stadium.

LA Tech’s matchup with Prairie View will round out its non-conference schedule for the 2020 season, as the Bulldogs are also slated for road matchups at UNLV (Sept. 5), at Baylor (Sept. 12) and at Vanderbilt (Nov. 21).

Tech and Prairie View have never met on the gridiron.

In 2021, the Bulldogs will host Southeastern Louisiana, completing Tech’s non-conference slate which features a home contest vs. SMU (Sept. 18) and road tests at Mississippi State (Sept. 4) and at NC State (Oct. 2).

All time, this will be mark the 38th matchup between Tech and Southeastern, dating back to the very first matchup in 1938. Tech has won eight straight over the Lions, with the most recent coming in 2008 (41-26).

Finally, in 2022, the Bulldogs will host Stephen F. Austin for the first time since 2000, as the two sides will square off on Sept. 10, 2022 at Joe Aillet Stadium. The Bulldogs and Lumberjacks have met five times, with Tech owning a 4-1 edge in the all-time series.

SFA is the third announced non-conference opponent for the Bulldogs in 2022, as Tech is also slated for road matchups at Baylor (Sept. 3) and at Clemson (Sept. 17).

Tech is currently 4-1 and 2-0 in conference play with four crucial home games remaining (UMass – Oct. 12, Southern Miss – Oct. 19, North Texas – Nov. 9, UTSA – Nov. 30).
