LSU has lost senior safety Ed Paris to an injury during Tuesday’s practice. The New Orleans native who evacuated to Arlington, Texas after Hurricane Katrina is expected to at least miss the game Saturday against Syracuse, coach Ed Orgeron said Thursday.

The injury, a significant one to the knee, a source confirmed to The Advocate, could cost Paris more games and potentially the season. He had been rotating with true freshman Grant Delpit at first-team safety during the first team games of the season for LSU (2-1).

Paris is still eligible for a medical redshirt if he does not play again this season.

LSU takes on Syracuse (2-1) in Tiger Stadium 6 p.m. Saturday.
