Kennedy releases 2023 McNeese women’s basketball non-conference schedule

LAKE CHARLES — McNeese women’s basketball head coach Lynn Kennedy has announced the 2023-24 non-conference schedule that includes 10 home games and a December 12 game at LSU, the 2023 National Champs.

The schedule also includes road games at Kansas State (Dec. 6), who was part of the 2023 WNIT field and Baylor (Dec. 20) who fell to UConn in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Cowgirls will face LSU for the 21st time and first since 2018 while it will be the first meeting against Kansas State and the 17th meeting against Baylor with the last coming since the 2020-21 season.

The Cowgirls will open their season with its first seven games at home including the MTE. The season opener is set for Nov. 6 against Dillard followed by Prairie View on Nov. 12.

The MTE, the first of its kind for the Cowgirl program is slated for Nov. 16-18 with Wisconsin-Milwaukee, UL-Monroe and Mississippi Valley State taking part in the three-day event.

Also on the home slate is North American University (Nov. 21), Ecclesia (Nov. 26), Centenary (Dec. 14), Tarleton (Dec. 16), and Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Dec. 31).

The Southland Conference schedule will be released August 1.
