Hall, Stuprich earn Southland weekly awards

HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana University baseball players Jude Hall and Brennan Stuprich earned Jersey Mike’s Southland Conference Player of the Week honors, the league office announced Monday.

Hall, a junior outfielder from Chilliwack, British Columbia, was 7-for-15 (.467) at the plate this week with one double and a pair of home runs for a .933 slugging percentage. He scored five runs and drove in nine during the Lions’ five-game stretch against Xavier of Louisiana, Mississippi Valley State, Cal State Fullerton, Purdue and No. 11-ranked East Carolina.

The transfer from Yavapai College blasted a pair of home runs in the no-hit win over Mississippi Valley and he drove in three runs against the Delta Devils as well as Xavier and East Carolina.

Stuprich (1-1) dominated in the win over Cal State Fullerton, an NCAA Regional participant a season ago. The redshirt junior from Kenner, Louisiana scattered three hits and one walk while tossing seven shutout innings in Southeastern’s 5-1 win in the opening game of the 21st annual Keith LeClair Classic in Greenville, North Carolina. He struck out five.

The outing lowered Stuprich’s season ERA to 1.13 through three starts.

UP NEXT
Southeastern returns home for a 10-game homestand leading into Southland Conference action. Tuesday the Lions host Alcorn State in a game that was originally slated for Lorman, Mississippi. First pitch is at 6 p.m. at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.

Wednesday, SLU hosts No. 2-ranked LSU in a sold-out contest in Hammond.

Single-game tickets are now on sale. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to minimize ticket lines on game days. Southeastern students are encouraged to contact the ticket office before the game to reserve theirs in advance.

General admission tickets for most games are $11 for adults and $8 for youth (ages 3-12). Southeastern students, with a university ID, and children under age 2 are admitted for free. Gameday parking is $5 per day for standard vehicles and $25 for RVs.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.LionSports.net/Tickets or by contacting the Southeastern Athletics Ticket Office at (985) 549-5466. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Fridays. The ticket booth at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field opens exactly one hour before the scheduled first pitch.

Southeastern uses mobile ticketing as the primary method for distributing tickets purchased online. Tickets will be available via text message or email in a PDF format for fans to download on their phone or print at home. Tickets can also be downloaded to Apple Wallet.
