Green Wave comes off bye seeking road win at Temple

TULANE FOOTBALL TRAVELS NORTH TO TAKE ON TEMPLE
-The Green Wave hits the road to play Temple for their sixth AAC game of the season. Kickoff is set for Saturday at 11 a.m. CT.
-Tulane’s matchup with Temple will mark the fifth all-time meeting between the two teams.
-Tulane will look to win its seventh game of the season, which would mark the first time since the 1997 and 1998 seasons it has won seven-or-more games in back-to-back seasons.
-The Green Wave will be in search of their first win over the Owls since 1935 when the two teams played in the Sugar Bowl. Temple has won three straight games in the series.
-The Green Wave enter the game after becoming bowl eligible with a 38-26 win over Tulsa.

FIRST AND 10
1. Tulane will be search of its first all-time win at Temple.
2. Senior quarterback Justin McMillan is 11-4 as a starter for the Green Wave.
3. McMillan leads the Green Wave with 12 rushing touchdowns. He is one of only three quarterbacks in the Football Bowl Subdivision that have rushed for 12-or-more touchdowns. McMillan is tied for 11th nationally among all players.
4. The Green Wave is the only school in the American Athletic Conference to have six different running backs rush for 200-or-more yards.
5. The Green Wave secondary is limiting opponents to just 196.9 passing yards per game – a figure which ranks third in The American and 32nd among FBS teams.
6. Tulane totaled 474 yards of total offense against Tulsa. The Green Wave have surpassed 400 yards of total offense 23 times since the start of the 2016 season. Tulane owns a 19-4 record in those games.
7. Sophomore Amare Jones ranks fifth in the American Athletic Conference and 30th nationally in all-purpose yards, averaging 126.3 yards per game.
8. Tulane has rushed for at least 100 yards in 49 consecutive games dating back to the end of the 2015 season. The Green Wave had 290 rushing yards in their last game against Tulsa.
9. The Green Wave enters their matchup with Temple having rushed for over 250 yards in seven of the last 11 games (337 vs. UL-Lafayette -2018, 350 vs. FIU, 298 vs. Missouri State, 325 vs. Houston, 324 vs. Army, 311 vs. UConn and 290 vs. Tulsa).
10. Tulane’s defensive unit has held six of its nine opponents under their season average in total yards (FIU, Auburn, Missouri State, Army, UConn and Tulsa).

SCOUTING TEMPLE
The Owls enter their matchup with Tulane following a 17-7 victory over USF where it became bowl eligible for the sixth straight season.
Temple’s defensive line has been the strength for the Owls this season, as they have gotten to the quarterback a FBS-best 53 times this year.
Redshirt junior quarterback Anthony Russo has passed for 2,037 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Russo’s top two receiving targets in redshirt sophomore Jadan Blue (672 yards)and redshirt junior Branden Mack (650 yards) have both surpassed 600 yards receiving this season.
Senior Shaun Bradley leads the Owls with 58 tackles, while redshirt junior Quincy Roche has tallied a team-best 6.5 sacks.
Temple’s lone loss at home this season came against UCF.
Rod Carey, who is in his first season at the helm, coaches the Owls.
