Green Wave 2020 Positional Preview: Offensive Line

NEW ORLEANS – The 19 individuals that comprise the Tulane offensive line unit feature depth, experience and most of all talent which should pave the way for another explosive offensive season in 2020.

THE UNIT
• The Green Wave offensive line returns five players this fall that have starting experience.
• Tulane’s offensive line consists of nine freshman, four sophomores, three juniors, one senior and two graduate transfers.
• Leading the way for the Green Wave up front is senior Corey Dublin. The New Orleans native has NEVER missed a start in 38 games.
• Redshirt junior Joey Claybrook also returns to the fold and has 17 career starts. The Starkville, Mississippi native broke into the starting unit in 2018 and has been a consistent player in the lineup.
• Sophomore offensive lineman Sincere Haynesworth will move to center this season after he saw action at guard. As a true freshman, Haynesworth made five starts, including the bowl game against Southern Miss.
• The Green Wave also welcomed graduate transfer Jaylen Miller from Duke University. In 2019, Miller played in nine games for the Blue Devils and was part of an offensive line that ranked fifth in the ACC in sacks allowed. The Jacksonville, Florida native starred at Providence High School and earned a four-star rating.
• Tulane inked five offensive linemen on signing day which included Rashad Green, Matt Lombardi, Josh Remetich, Joseph Solomon and Trey Tuggle. All five offensive linemen earned three-star ratings from 247Sports.com.
• Remetich earned preseason freshman All-America honors from 247Sports.com.
• The Olive and Blue lost starters Keyshawn McLeod and Christian Montano from last year’s squad.
• Cody Kennedy, who is entering his second season with the Green Wave, coaches the offensive line.
OF NOTE
• The Tulane offensive line paved the way for the Green Wave to total a program record 5,841 yards a year ago.
• The Green Wave also surpassed 3,000 yards rushing for the first time in program history.
• Corey Dublin was named to the 2020 Outland Trophy Watch List. He also earned preseason All-AAC honors from Phil Steele, Athlon Sports and the Pro Football Focus.
• Sincere Haynesworth was named preseason All-AAC by Phil Steele and Pro Football Focus.
• Ben Knutson received preseason All-AAC honors from Pro Football Focus.
• Joey Claybrook earned preseason All-AAC honors from Athlon Sports.

Tulane is set to kickoff the season in Mobile, Alabama, against South Alabama on Saturday, September 12. The Green Wave are coming off a record setting 2019 campaign that was highlighted by a win in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl to give Tulane back-to-back bowl victories for the first time in program history. The Green Wave captured the AutoNation Cure Bowl in 2018.
