ALEXANDRIA, La. — Xavier University of Louisiana lost 10-6 and 12-4 Friday to LSU-Alexandria in a Red River Athletic Conference softball doubleheader.

Jillian Howell had six RBIs for the Generals in the doubleheader, four in the second game.

XULA’s Mecolett Bradley was 5-for-7 in the two games, including a double and a home run in the second game. Kadence Means was 4-for-7, including two first-game doubles. Madison Winston stole four bases, three in the opener.

Means doubled home Winston to cap a three-run fourth inning that tied the first game at 6, but LSUA broke the tie with four runs in the sixth.

In the second game, LSUA scored four times in the second inning to break a tie at 1. The Generals’ Ke’Aisa St. Julien was 3-for-3, including a two-run single with two out in the sixth that ended the game early because of the eight-run rule.

Bradley and Means drove in runs in each of XULA’s four games this week.

XULA is 9-17 overall and 3-9 in the RRAC. LSUA is 14-12 and 7-3. Next for the Gold Nuggets will be a trip to Hobbs, N.M., for an RRAC doubleheader April 1 against Southwest.
