GCAC basketball players receive Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors

NEW ORLEANS – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced its winter sports Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes and the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference had seven student-athletes honored. Oakwood University and Tougaloo College each had three honorees, and Wiley University had one student honored.

In total, 1,459 student-athletes were named Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes in winter sports. In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.

The NAIA separates the honorees by sport.
