*LSU and Oklahoma meet for just the third time, and the first since a 21-14 Tiger victory in the 2004 BCS National Championship Game in New Orleans. The win over Oklahoma in the BCS title game gave LSU its first national title since 2003. LSU has since won the 2007 national title and has three national championships to its credit (also won 1958). The LSU-OU series is tied 1-1.

*LSU is 13-0 for the second time in school history. The only other 13-0 start in school history came in 2011 when the Tigers started 13-0 before falling in the national championship game.

*Coach O’s 38 wins through 47 games ranks as the second-most for any coach in LSU history over that span. Only Les Miles (39 wins in 47 games) won more games than Orgeron during the first 47 games of his LSU coaching career. Orgeron ranks ahead of Bernie Moore (36 wins in 47 games); Charles McClendon (34 wins in 47 games) and Nick Saban (34 wins in 47 games).
