Former LSU cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. is living up to the hype in his second NFL season.

The Houston Texans cornerback has been named AFC Defensive Player of the Month for December and January.

Stingley recorded 19 tackles, nine passes defended, three interceptions and a tackle for loss over the last six weeks of the regular season. The No. 3 overall pick of the 2022 draft had five interceptions and 13 passes defensed in 11 regular season games.

The Dunham School of Baton Rouge alum will play in his first NFL postseason game Saturday when the Texans host the Cleveland Browns.
