Epps’ career night leads LSU to 80-77 victory against Houston

BATON ROUGE — Senior Aaron Epps logged a career-high 26 points and a career-best 16 rebounds for his fourth career double-double as LSU defeated Houston, 80-77, Wednesday night in the Maravich Center.

With just 10 seconds left in the game and Houston in possession, freshman Tremont Waters went up for a massive block as LSU secured the victory in the PMAC.

LSU improves to 6-2 on the season, and Houston falls to 8-2 on the year. The Tigers return to action Saturday, Dec. 16 at noon CT against Stephen F. Austin on the SEC Network.

Epps also set a career-best with eight free throws made. Sophomore Skylar Mays recorded a career-high nine minutes and played for a career-long 37 minutes.
