Delgado pitching blanks Andrew College to cap experience in Panama City

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – Delgado defeated Andrew College 2-0 Sunday to close its opening weekend and appearance in the inaugural Panama City Beach Baseball Classic.

Lane LeBlanc reached on a walk in the third and advanced on a single by Ethan Lege and JT Singletary’s walk before scoring on the bases-loaded walk by Maverick McClure.

In the fourth, Davis Stephens doubled and scored on a single by Tyler Cook for the game’s second and final run before Delgado’s 2-0 win over Andrew.

Delgado starter Hunter Draper picked up his first win of the season on the mound, pitching five complete innings and allowing no runs, three hits and striking out five. Will Reed earned the save, his first of the season, facing the minimum in his two innings in relief.

With Sunday’s win, Delgado improves to 2-2 overall on the weekend and its young season.
