Captain Shreve crushed Leesville, 54-0, in the final game at the Battle on the Border on Saturday night in Independence Stadium.

The Gators got the scoring frenzy started with a safety in the end zone by Scotty Simo before a minute had passed.

Kenyon Terrell’s 10-yard run was later followed by a one-yard run from Matt Hall to give Shreve a 16-0 lead after one quarter.

A 39 yard field goal from Thomas Murray was followed by two explosive plays late in the half. A 66-yard run from Hall and a Terrell-to-Braylon Finney pass for a 90-yard strike to end the half made it 33-0.

The second half was no better for the Wampus Cats as the Gators snapped off another dynamic play, a 58-yard pass by Terrell to Finney to make 40-0. A third Terrell-to-Finney connection for a three-yard touchdown soon followed.

Shreve wrapped up a completely dominant effort with a 16-yard touchdown run from Moutavious Scott with 4:34 left in the game.

It was all Captain Shreve head coach Bryant Sepulvado could have hoped to see form his team.

“We played hard, executed well and played a complete game,” said Sepulvado.

The Gators (2-0) will play Union Parish (2-0) on Friday while Leesville (1-1) will look to bounce back against LaGrange (0-2).
