LAFAYETTE – Southeastern Louisiana’s Nick Caldwell and Louisiana Christian University’s Princis Goff were named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) Basketball Players of the Week, released by the organization on Tuesday.

The duo was honored after being nominated by their respective basketball sports information directors and selected by a statewide panel of media members.

NICK CALDWELL, SOUTHEASTERN – Senior, Guard/Forward, Prairieville, La.
Caldwell picked up his first two double-doubles of the season while picking up some key late scores in two wins last week for SLU.

In leading the Lions to a 2-0 week, Caldwell averaged 23 points and 10 rebounds on 50 percent (14-for-28) shooting, 44 percent (4-for-9) from three, and 88 percent (14-for-16) at the free throw line.

Caldwell sank a pair of free throws with 8.1 seconds left which forced overtime in an eventual 79-77 win last Monday at Texas A&M-Commerce. He got his first double-double of the season with 22 points and 10 rebounds while tying his career-high with five blocks.

The Prairieville, La., native followed that up with a 24-point, 10-rebound double-double on Saturday in an 81-78 victory against Houston Christian where he drained the game-winning, 3-pointer with 3.9 seconds left.

Caldwell went 7-for-10 from the field against HCU while connecting on both of his 3-point attempts and finishing 8-for-8 from the free throw line.

PRINCIS GOFF, LOUISIANA CHRISTIAN – Sophomore, Guard/Forward, Atlanta, La.
Goff was the bright spot for LCU in a pair of league games last week after averaging 15.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals.

She scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a narrow loss at Huston-Tillotson last Thursday. The Atlanta, La., product finished 10-for-13 from the free throw line while recording four steals in 28 minutes of play.

Goff added 10 points at Our Lady of the Lake on Saturday where she went 6-for-8 from the line while dishing out a pair of assists with a block and five steals.
