Boys/Co-Ed Bowling: Brother Martin tops Curtis on Senior Day; Hahnville rallies past Ehret

HARAHAN – Brother Martin celebrated Senior Day Wednesday with a 23-4 victory over John Curtis Christian at Colonial Lanes.

The lone senior on the Crusaders roster, Jacob Vangilder, had a 677 series, including a 256 middle game. Freshman Tyler Nunes had a team-best 693 series, including a 245 opening game that began with eight consecutive strikes.

Brother Martin (9-1) finished with a 3,506 team series after starting with games of 1,218 and 1,223.

Carter Santangelo led the Patriots (5-5) with a 640 series, including a 235 final game.

Brother Martin, ninth in the latest LHSAA Division I boys/co-ed power rankings, is off until a Monday showdown with undefeated Jesuit at Bowlero Kenner.

Hahnville 16, John Ehret 11: The Tigers rallied from an early deficit to defeat the Patriots at Colonial.

Ehret (3-7) took a 6-2 lead after the opening game, but Hahnville (4-7) took the lead by winning seven of eight points in the second game. The teams split four points in the final game but the Tigers maintained their edge in overall total pins for the victory.

Lucian Michel had a 437 series, including a 161 middle game from the leadoff spot, to lead Hahnville. Bryce Goodson picked up three points at the No. 4 spot.

Chandler Crawford’s 179 opening game and 445 series led Ehret.
