Blake Butera

The Tampa Bay Rays announced Wednesday 25-year-old Blake Butera will manage their short-season Single-A affiliate, the Hudson Valley Renegades, this upcoming season.

That means the Mandeville High alumnus is the youngest manager in organized professional baseball.

Butera played at Boston College before joining the Rays at a 35th round pick in 2015. After two minor league seasons as a player, he coached on the Hudson Valley staff last year.

His father Barry Sr. and brother Barry Jr. also played minor league baseball.
