Kenner Discovery-Ponchatoula soccer

Kenner Discovery opened its boys soccer season with a 3-0 win over Ponchatoula.

Senior Darren Varela scored in the first half with an assist from Sophomore Thomas Rumbelow to give the Swamp Owls the lead at the half. Junior Derieck Hernandez-Euceda and Senior Benji Hernandez-Suazo both scored in the second half to seal the win.

Junior Jose Castro, with the help of the defense secured the shutout in goal.

The Swamp Owls return to action against Country Day Thursday at 4 p.m.at the Lafreniere Turf field.
