EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Baseball finds itself back in a familiar spot – number one. The Bengals vault to the top spot in the most recent NJCAA Division II Baseball rankings released by the organization on Monday.

LSUE spent the first three regular season polls as the number two team and has flipped spots with East Central CC. The Bengals received all seven first place votes in the Top 20 poll.

Since 2018 LSU Eunice has been a mainstay atop the NJCAA Baseball Rankings, topping the chart in 46 of the last 64 regular season polls taken. Under the helm of Jeff Willis, LSU Eunice has been ranked number one in at least one week of the polls in 17 of his 22 seasons on the Cajun Prairie.

The Bengals enter the week with a 33-2 record, fresh off a weekend sweep of Southeast Arkansas Community College. LSUE has established itself as one of the most balanced teams in the nation, leading the nation in team earned run average (1.94) and ranking third in runs scored (354).

LSUE hits the road to take on Centenary College JV on Wednesday, followed by a home weekend series against Delgado CC beginning on Saturday.
