LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Soccer team released its 2023 schedule on Wednesday featuring a 10-match Sun Belt Conference schedule, an eight-match home slate which features three first-time opponents and visits to three former SBC foes.

Louisiana, entering its second year under head coach Chris McBride, will open with a pair of exhibition matches at in-state opponents McNeese (Aug. 9) and Northwestern State (Aug. 12) before officially opening the 2023 campaign on Aug. 17 against former SBC rival Middle Tennessee in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

The match against MTSU will be one of five road matches in the first six contests for Louisiana, which will also visit Grambling (Aug. 24), Stephen F. Austin (Aug. 27) and former SBC schools Florida Atlantic (Aug. 31) and Florida International (Sept. 3).

The Ragin’ Cajuns will open their home schedule on Aug. 20 at the Home Bank Track/Soccer Facility against first-time opponent South Florida before hosting non-conference matches against Alcorn (Sept. 7) and Lamar (Sept. 10).

Louisiana opens SBC action on Sept. 17 at Texas State and will make its first trip to Old Dominion – the defending SBC Tournament champion – when the teams meet on Sept. 21 in Norfolk, Va. The Ragin’ Cajuns will host ULM in the SBC home opener on Sept. 24 and will also host James Madison (Sept. 30), Southern Miss (Oct. 8), Arkansas State (Oct. 19) and Marshall (Oct. 26) in league play.
