It was the fourth meeting in four years in the playoffs.

Scotlandville held the edge, winning two of the previous three meetings with Brother Martin. That is now even as fourth-seeded Brother Martin made a huge statement in a convincing 46-13 win over the Hornets at Tad Gormley Stadium Friday night.

Garrett Mmahat had his best performance of the season, completing 13-of-18 passes for 171 yards and four touchdowns, including a pair to Austin Jackson. Jack Landry added a 33-yard field goal for the Crusaders.

Brother Martin (9-2) dominated from start to finish, never trailing. Brother Martin jumped out to a 10-0 lead before Scotlandville cut the deficit to 10-7 in the second quarter. A Mmahat 13-yard touchdown pass to Chris Smith extended the lead to 17-7 at the half and the Crusaders never looked back despite losing a pair of fumbles. Smith scored twice for Brother Martin, rushing for 55 yards and a score and catching two passes for 21 yards and a touchdown.

Brother Martin exploded for 23 unanswered points in the third quarter to put the game away and added another fourth-quarter touchdown before Scotlandville (8-4) got a late score to account for the final margin.

The Crusaders advance to the semifinals to take on top seed and unbeaten Archbishop Rummel in another rematch next Friday night at Joe Yenni Stadium. The Raiders survived in an epic 35-34 victory over Catholic League rival St. Augustine.

Rummel shut out Brother Martin 30-0 on Oct. 12.
