TUCSON, Ariz. – Another rough hitting day for Louisiana Tech’s batters caused Tech to drop Sunday’s game against Arizona. Louisiana Tech (26-12) swept in a three-game series for the first time this season after Arizona (21-13) secured a 5-2 victory on Sunday.

The Wildcats, now with the nation’s longest winning streak, started the scoring early after scoring the first run of the game in the bottom of the first. Arizona would score three more runs in the bottom of the third following an RBI triple from Brendan Summerhill, which led to an Emilio Corona RBI single. The Wildcats would secure another run after another RBI single, extending their lead to 4-0 after the third.

Meanwhile, Tech would make a pitching change, sending in Grant Hubka for 2.0 innings of work, in which he had one strikeout, one walk, and one walk in his relief duty. Later, pitcher Blake Hooks took the mound in relief following his 3.0 innings, he had three strikeouts with two walks and gave up one run. Arizona’s fifth-inning run came after Maddox Mihalakis stole home.

However, Ethan Bates cut Arizona’s lead to three from his two-run home run to right field. Eventually, Connor Nation took the mound for the Bulldogs and kept Arizona scoreless with one strikeout, one hit, and one walk.
