Zion Williamson

When it comes to the season debut of Zion Williamson, the wait continues for the New Orleans Pelicans.

The team announced Thursday that the All-Star forward is not ready to play yet due to soreness in his surgically-repaired foot.

“The 21-year old experienced some soreness in his right foot during his recent ramp-up process. As a result, Williamson did not practice. New Orleans will monitor the soreness in the coming days, as the team travels to Texas for a two-game road trip against Dallas and Houston.”

New Orleans will continue to try and stay in striking distance of a play-in playoff spot until Zion’s return.

“It’s frustrating,” Pelicans head coach Willie Green said. “It’s something he’s been going through, and something he’s been working his tail off to come back from. He understands though that this is a part of it. He’s just got to keep getting past these hurdles.”
