TOUGALOO, Miss. — Xavier University of Louisiana produced season highs for points, field goals made and field-goal accuracy Wednesday in a 94-67 women’s basketball victory against Tougaloo.

XULA (7-6) snapped a three-game losing streak.

Freshman Jaleah Lafargue, one of six XULA double-figure scorers, had a season-high 15 points and was 7-of-9 from the floor. O.C. Mbakop Ngassam was 7-of-8 from the floor and scored 14 points. Nia Bishop scored 13 points, Rayna Ross 12, Victory Udechi 11 and Abryhia Irons 10.

“Defensively we were much better today,” XULA head coach Bo Browder said, “and we got balanced scoring.”

XULA led 43-27 at halftime and 73-39 through three quarters. XULA made 37 baskets and shot 48.7 percent from the floor to reach 90 points for the second time this season.

Amari Pittman scored 28 points, Morgan Hunter 14 and Tyra Conerly 13 for Tougaloo (0-5).

XULA has won its last seven meetings with Tougaloo, six by 20-or-more points.
