XULA hires Gonzalo Carranza as men’s soccer head coach

NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana announced Wednesday the hiring of Gonzalo Carranza as men’s soccer head coach.

Carranza coached the men of Eastern Oklahoma State College in 2022 to a 12-6-3 record, a district championship, a berth at the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I nationals and a No. 19 national ranking.

The debut season of XULA men’s soccer will be 2023. The Gold Rush will compete for honors in the Red River Athletic Conference and the NAIA.
