NEW ORLEANS, La. – If the coaches poll is any indication, the Xavier Gold Nuggets will win its 14th straight GCAC Championship dating back to 2006.

Xavier University of Louisiana claimed the lion’s share of the first-place votes with four but both Edward Waters and Philander Smith each received a vote to dethrone XULA.

While Xavier has been the gold standard, coaches around the league seem to think the field has caught up to the green and gold with Philander Smith and Edward Waters garnering the other nominations to capture the crown.

Xavier, Edward Waters and Philander Smith make up the top-three teams in order with Dillard, Rust and Tougaloo behind them.
Talladega will not be sponsoring cross country during the 2020 season and was not included in the poll.

GCAC Women’s Cross Country Coaches Poll:

#1 Xavier (La.) Gold Nuggets (4)
#2 Edward Waters Lady Tigers (1)
#3 Philander Smith Lady Panthers (1)
#4 Dillard Lady Bleu Devils
#5 Rust Lady Bearcats
#6 Tougaloo Lady Bulldogs
