While Brother Martin remains the team to beat in Division I wrestling, do not sleep on St. Paul’s.

The Wolves are off to a very impressive start in 2019.

That continued Wednesday night as St. Paul’s scored an impressive 55-13 dual meet victory over always tough Jesuit.

The Wolves won nine of the 12 matches contested and took the other two by forfeit.

Scoring falls for St. Paul’s were Carter Duet (120), Michael Rader (126), Grant Nastasi (138), Blain Cascio (170) and Cole Ulfers (220). The three Blue Jay winners were Joseph Rosevally (113), Luke Battaglia (145) and Blain Cascio (170).

Archbishop Shaw is always a factor in Division II and the Eagles will be in the hunt again in 2020.

Shaw downed Chalmette 55-24 Wednesday night.

The Eagles won eight of the nine matches contested. Scoring pins for Shaw were Glenn Price (113), Raheem Bonnet (120), Ashton Surrency (132), Camden Stahl (138), Michael Seal (152) and Armando Amaya (160). The lone winner for the Owls was Trevor Lane (170), who won by a fall. The Owls captured the other three matches by forfeit.
