Wrestling: Parkway wins Ken Cole Invitational

Prep Wrestling Report for Sunday, Jan. 26

Defending Division II state champion Parkway served notice Saturday that it may be a force in Division I in the upcoming LHSAA state wrestling championships coming up Feb. 14-15 in Bossier.

The defending state champion Panthers won the 44th Ken Cole Invitational in Lafayette by 15 points over Teurlings Catholic. Defending Division III champion Basile was third. St. Amant finished fourth with Live Oak fifth.

Top area teams in Brother Martin and Holy Cross did not send their top wrestlers, though they competed.

Parkway won the team title despite not claiming an individual title.

Among local participants claiming individual titles were Vincent Russo of Mandeville (113) and Jacob Ramirez of Archbishop Rummel (138),
