Wrestling: Brother Martin sweeps through Crusader Duals

With six good teams from around the state participating Saturday, Brother Martin once again asserted itself at its Crusader Duals at Bob Conlin Gymnasium.

Brother Martin won all five dual meets to win the event.

The Crusaders downed defending Division II state champion Teurlings Catholic 48-21 in a dual of the top two teams.

Brother Martin won 9 of the 13 matches contested with the Rebels.

Scoring pins for the Crusaders against Teurlings were Logan Dacuyan (106), Jacob Elsensohn (120), Hunter Chabert (126), Kent Burandt (145) and Rocco Horvath (170).

In the best match of the dual at 152 pounds, Samuel Riles of the Crusaders edged Brayden Hebert of Teurlings Catholic 10-9.

Brother Martin also defeated De La Salle, East Ascension, Archbishop Rummel and Sam Houston.

Teurlings Catholic won its four other dual meets to finish second with East Ascension finishing third.
