Division I power Brother Martin appears on a mission.

After finishing third a year ago following five straight state titles, the Crusaders are looking more and more like the team to beat this season.

They continued their run last night, blanking Chalmette 76-0 at Chalmette Wednesday night.

Brother Martin won all 13 matches contested, including 10 by pin, and took the other weight class by forfeit.

Scoring falls for the Crusaders were Jake Spellman (106), Chase Scott (113), Quinn Williams (120), Ross Mayer (126), Eli Hope (138), Bailey Stretzinger (145), Colby Franovich (152), Cameron Frederick (195), Garrett Legendre (220) and Mack Brown (285).

The team that ended Brother Martin’s Division 1 title run a year ago is a prime contender once again.

Holy Cross rolled over Archbishop Shaw 65-7 at Holy Cross Wednesday evening.

The Tigers won 10 of the 12 matches contested, including six by pin. Scoring falls for the Tigers were Michael Lundin (120), Logan Lacoste (132), Cameron Doyle (138), Cameron Frost (145), Brady Butler (152) and Logan Heffner (182).

Winners for the Eagles included Martin Garrett (160) and Eduardo Garcia (170).

Brother Martin and Holy Cross will both wrestle in the Louisiana Classic Friday and Saturday at The Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales.
