Woodlawn cruised past North Central, 48-0, on homecoming night at Independence Stadium on Friday.

Isaiah Kennedy scored on a one-yard run with three minutes left in the first quarter to make it 8-0. On their next possession, Austin Walker followed it up with a seven-yard score.

Just like the opening quarter, Woodlawn scored two more touchdowns late in the half courtesy of the same duo. A four-yard run from Walker and a two-yard run from Kennedy gave the Knights a 28-0 advantage in the locker room.

The second half would not be any friendlier to the Hurricanes as the Knights controlled their offense and tacked on to the lead.

Walker’s third touchdown of the night, a 14-yard run, was followed up by Brandon Henderson’s 14-yard touchdown.

Woodlawn tacked on a final touchdown with 11 minutes left to cap the dominant effort.

However, Knights head coach Thedrick Harris was not ready to let his team rest on their laurels.

“We had too many mistakes but showed good effort,” said Harris.

Woodlawn (2-1) will travel to Baton Rouge to play McKinley (1-1) next Friday while North Central (0-3) will host West St. Mary (1-1).
