Winner of Tuesday’s Cajuns-Chanticleers game guaranteed to host in first-round of Sun Belt Championships

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Men’s Basketball team looks to build momentum in the Sun Belt Conference Men’s Basketball Championships when it wraps up its 2019-20 regular-season on Tuesday facing Coastal Carolina at the Cajundome.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The game can be heard in the Lafayette area on KHXT 107.9 FM, RaginCajuns.com and the Hot 107.9 mobile app with Jay Walker on the call. The game will also be available on ESPN+ with Dan McDonald (Play-By-Play) and Eric Mouton (Color) providing commentary.

The winner of Tuesday’s game between Louisiana (12-18, 7-12 Sun Belt) and Coastal Carolina (15-15, 8-11 Sun Belt) would guarantee a first-round game at home in the Sun Belt Championships, which begins on Saturday with a pair of games at campus sites.

The meeting between the Ragin’ Cajuns and Chanticleers is the lone contest of the regular-season between the schools with Louisiana holding a 4-1 advantage in the all-time series.

Jalen Johnson (15.2 ppg.), Cedric Russell (13.7), Mylik Wilson (11.4) and senior P.J. Hardy (10.4) are the top scorers for Louisiana with Johnson leading the team with 6.6 rebounds per game.

DeVante Jones tops Coastal Carolina in scoring at 16.7 points per game with Tommy Burton (11.5) and Tyrell Gumbs-Frater (11.3) following.
