Nearly all of the attention in the NFL right now has turned to April’s draft, but the New Orleans Saints are still working hard to address team needs through free agency.

And the Saints pulled off a coup on Wednesday by dipping their hand into the restricted free agent market to sign wide receiver Cameron Meredith away from the Chicago Bears, who did not match the two-year, $9.6 million offer sheet New Orleans offered Meredith last week, a league source told The Advocate.

Chicago tendered Meredith at the lowest level, meaning there is no draft-pick compensation for signing the wide receiver, and decided not to match the Saints’ offer.
