West Monroe has relieved Todd Garvin of his coaching duties.

The first-year head football coach had been placed on administrative leave Sept. 5. Interim coach Kevin Davis led the 2-0 Rebels to a victory this past Friday at East Ascension.

The decision to place Garvin on leave came after the fourth instance of West Monroe players being hospitalized after practices, including last Monday involving a player who had been out with COVID.

Garvin, a west Monroe alum, was head coach at Ouachita Parish the past two seasons, compiling a 15-10 mark. He replaced Jerry Arledge at West Monroe this past offseason.
