West Monroe rushed for over 300 yards and broke two different ties Friday to beat Ruston 28-14 on Don Shows Field at Rebel Stadium.

The win pushes the West Monroe district win steak to 81 games and the win streak over Ruston to 28 games in a row.

Quarterback Slade Bolden rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns while running back Cameron Wright scored two touchdowns and rushed for 188 yards for the Rebels.

Tied 7-7 in the first half, Wright broke off a 29-yard touchdown run and the Rebels (6-0, 1-0 2-5A) to give West Monroe a 14-7 lead at halftime.

DeAndre Marcus scored on a 8-yard touchdown run to again tie the game with 9:57 in the third quarter.

The tied then turned on the next Ruston possession as an errant punt snap punt the Rebels at the Ruston six-year line. Bolden scored the first of two second half touchdowns on the ground to give West Monroe a lead it would not relinquish.

Bolden scored on a 33-yard jaunt with 3:23 to put the game out of reach.
