If a group of players could look as close to a machine as possible, West Monroe took the role to heart Friday night on Don Shows Field at Rebel Stadium.

West Monroe scored three touchdowns on its first nine offensive plays and never looked back in a 53-0 rout of No. 32 Pineville.

The win was a repeat of a 60-14 victory in the battle of Rebels nearly one month previously.

West Monroe junior quarterback Garrett Kahmann threw three touchdowns and Charlie Norman rushed for 179 yards and three scores.

Norman got the bulk of the carries in the second quarter after starting tailback Cameron Wright suffered an ankle I jury and did not return. Wright will undergo further tests.

The host Rebel defense pitched the shutout and forced a turnover in another dominating performance.

Kicker Reece Aultman was 7-of-7 on extra points and made a field goal for West Monroe.

West Monroe will host No. 16 Captain Shreve next Friday in the second round of the LHSAA Class 5A playoffs.
