Being a lower seed than normal has been no hindrance to always tough Warren Easton.

The 20th-seeded Eagles dismissed a second straight higher seed, handling No. 4 Tioga 35-26 Saturday evening at Pan American Stadium to land the final spot in the LHSAA prep football quarterfinals.

The Eagles led from start to finish.

While the Indians (9-2) pulled within one score on three occasions, they could never get over the hump.

It was the Ashaad Clayton show.

The Colorado commit rushed 27 times for 246 yards and four touchdowns in a dominant performance.

Tioga got a big performance from quarterback Blake McGehee, who passed for 418 yards and three scores.

Warren Easton (7-4), which has reached the 4A state championship game twice in the last twice in the last five years, will remain at home to host No. 5 Carencro (10-2) in the quarterfinals.
