Volleyball Report: McGehee sweeps through Woodlawn tourney
Suffice it to say that McGehee is always tough in volleyball. The Hawks fit that bill once again in 2017.
After winning the Division V state championship in 2015 and falling just short, losing in five sets to eventual Division V state champion Country Day a year ago, the Hawks are poised to challenge for the Division V state title this season.
McGehee swept through the Woodlawn Tournament in Baton Rouge, winning all three matches to start the season.
On Friday, the Hawks whipped Captain Shreve 25-11, 25-12 before handling Dominican 25-14, 25-19 and whipping St. Martinville 25-11, 25-15 Saturday.
McGehee, who won the Division IV state championship in 2003, 2004 and 2008, returns to action Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at home against Slidell.
