Volleyball Report: Country Day remains unbeaten among Tuesday winners

Area Prep Volleyball Report for Wednesday, September 25

Country Day continues to roll.

The unbeaten Cajuns easily won at Archbishop Hannan 25-7, 25-17, 25-16.

Kelsey Dinvaut, Sophia Henderson and Nia Washington each produced eight kills while Ashlyn Barwick had 34 assists and 11 digs. Washington added four aces.

Country Day (15-0) will host Academy of Our Lady today at 5:30 p.m. while the Hawks (6-10) will entertain Parkview Baptist Monday at 5:30 p.m.

Dominican defeated Academy of the Sacred Heart of New Orleans 25-18, 25-20, 25-21 at home Tuesday for its fourth straight win.

Freshman O’Neil Haddad had 10 kills and three digs, sophomore Kate Baker produced five kills, 27 assists with 11 digs and a blocked shot. Junior Elizabeth Hardouin added five kills, 18 digs and two assists.

Dominican (10-3) returns to action Thursday at De La Salle at 5:30 p.m. while the Cardinals (8-5) also return to action Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at Cohen Prep.

Fisher downed Kenner Discovery 25-17, 25-20, 27-25 at home.

Seniors Raegan White and Dallas DesRoches each produced seven kills for the Gators. White added 24 digs and two assists.

Fisher (4-4) travels to McDonogh 35 Thursday at 4:30 p.m. while the Swamp Owls (9-4) will host Cabrini next Monday at 5:30 p.m.

John Curtis Christian easily won at Donaldsonville 25-6, 25-12, 25-12 for its fifth straight victory

Freshman Jacke Melancon had eight kills, two assists and a block while senior Remi Hebert recorded seven kills, an ace, a dig and an assist. Freshman Madison Laiche dealt out 23 assists and two digs.

The Patriots (9-2) travel to the West Bank to meet Patrick Taylor today at 5:30 p.m. while Donaldsonville (2-2) heads to East Iberville Thursday at 5 p.m.
