After having its seven-match win streak snapped in a loss to Academy of the Sacred Heart on Tuesday, defending Division V state champion Country Day looked to get back on track Wednesday but it was a tough task as the Cajuns traveled to always tough Archbishop Hannan.

In a great match, the Cajuns returned to their winning ways, outlasting the Hawks 25-22, 25-19, 16-25, 23-25, 15-13 in one of the best matches of the season. Country Day is third in the most recent Division V power ratings while Archbishop Hannan is second in the Division IV ratings.

Junior Alex Smith put away 14 kills and served 10 aces to lead the Cajuns (8-2). Mary Tebbe dished up 41 assists and sophomore Kelsey Dinvaut had 10 kills. Junior Allee Morris led the Hawks (8-6) with 27 kills and 10 blocks. The loss was the third straight for Hannan.

Country Day returns to action next Tuesday at home against Lakeshore at 5:30 p.m. while Archbishop Hannan is back in action next Wednesday at Cabrini at 5:30 p.m.
