Volleyball Report: Belle Chasse wins to secure home match in playoffs

Ranked 12th in the most recent LHSAA power ratings in Division II, Belle Chasse virtually assured itself of a home match in the opening round of the state playoffs next week with a solid 25-15, 26-24, 25-22 win over Academy of Our Lady in District 8-II action on the road Thursday.

The win gave the Cardinals (20-17) a season sweep of the Penguins. Belle Chasse won at home over AOL in three sets on Oct. 10.

Academy of Our Lady (24-10) was 13th in the power ratings and still figures to get a home match in the first round despite the loss.
