Area Prep Volleyball Report for Thursday, Oct. 17

Country Day is unbeaten no more.

The Cajuns traveled to Slidell to face another traditional power in Pope John Paul II and could get not escape unscathed.

The Jaguars overcame a first set loss to win the final three sets in a 19-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-13 victory Thursday to remain red hot. The win was the 12th straight for Pope John Paul II.

Seniors Ansley Tullis and Rachel Hartman each had 22 kills. Tullis added 32 digs, four assists and three blocks and an ace while Hartman had three digs, three assists and two blocks. Kendall Battistella had 51 assists for the Jaguars.

Pope John Paul II (23-5) returns to action Monday at 4:30 p.m. at Northshore while Country Day (27-1) will also play Northshore next, coming up next Wednesday in Metairie at 4:30 p.m.
