Volleyball: MCA, TC, PB, PJP, McGehee top power rankings

Mount Carmel, Teurlings Catholic, Parkview Baptist, Pope John Paul II and McGehee top the most recent power ratings released by the LHSAA which will be updated shortly.

In Division I, Mount Carmel (22-4) is on top while among area teams, Ponchatoula (13-7) is fifth. The Cubs return to action Tuesday at home against St. Amant at 5:30 p.m. while the Green Wave play at Hammond today at 5:30 p.m.

In Division II, unbeaten Teurlings Catholic (17-0) is No. 1. Area teams Ben Franklin (12-4) and St. Scholastica (14-3) are third and fourth overall. Ben Franklin plays at Warren Easton Tuesday at 4 p.m. The Doves will host Academy of The Sacred Heart of New Orleans Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

In Division III, Parkview Baptist (20-3) is the top-ranked team with Ursuline (19-4) second. The Lions host Lake Area New Tech today at 5:30 p.m.

Pope John Paul II (22-3) is on top in Division IV. The Jaguars played at a prestigious national tournament in Arizona over the weekend, going 4-2. All three losses for Pope John Paul II are against out-of-state opponents. The Jaguars return to action Tuesday, hosting St. Helena at 5:30 p.m. Riverside (19-5) is second with Archbishop Hannan (11-7) fifth. The Rebels host St. Charles Catholic Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. while the Hawks host Bogalusa Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

In Division V, McGehee (20-0) is No. 1 with Country Day (14-2) second and St. Martin’s Episcopal (15-5) fifth. The Hawks take their unbeaten record to Thomas Jefferson today for a 5:30 p.m. match, the Cajuns host Northshore Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and the Saints play at Archbishop Chapelle Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
