Volleyball: Lutcher, Slidell, Dominican win Tuesday

Area Prep Volleyball Report for Wednesday, Sept. 6

Lutcher won a battle of River Parish rivals, defeating Riverside Academy 25-12, 25-15, 25-20 Tuesday at Lutcher.

Abigail York led the Bulldogs with eight kills and a block, Allie Brady had five kills and two aces and Haile Cambre had five kills and Gracie Poche had 29 assists.

The Bulldogs (2-4) return to action Monday at Dutchtown at 6 p.m.

The Rebels (0-2) host St. Thomas Aquinas today at 6 p.m.

Slidell bounced back from its first loss of the season, traveling to New Orleans and defeated Cabrini 25-13, 25-11, 25-18.

Junior Reagan Robinson led the Tigers with 17 kills and seven digs while sophomore Ava Barduca had seven kills and two blocks. Senior Kayla Rachel had five kills and five blocks. Sophomore Ava Labat contributed 34 assists and junior Justice Kingston had 12 digs.

The Tigers (9-1) return to action today, hosting St. Scholastica at 5:30 p.m.

The Crescents (3-3) are also back in action today at Academy of the Sacred Heart at 5:30 p.m.

Dominican handled Haynes Academy 25-20, 25-22, 25-11 at home.

Senior Camryn Chatellier led the attack with 26 kills and 12 digs while senior Noelie Haddad and senior Tamia Williams each had six kills while Williams added two blocks. Senior Gabby Marcello dished up 41 assists while junior Lauren Pipitone had 21 digs. Junior Maria Briuglio had 11 digs.

Dominican (3-0) return to action Thursday at St. Scholastica at 5:30 p.m. Haynes (2-1) travels to Chalmette Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
