Volleyball: Destrehan handles Central Lafourche, Abramson outlasts M.L. King

Area Prep Volleyball Report for Thursday, Sept. 24

Destrehan snapped a two-match losing streak, downing Central Lafourche 25-15, 25-19, 25-22 at home Thursday.

Junior Ryley Boyne was a force for the Wildcats with 21 kills, 11 digs, four aces and one block. Senior Addison Benefield had eight kills and junior Skylar Defrisco finished with 12 assists, 12 digs and two aces.

Destrehan (5-2) returns to action today, hosting Springfield at 4:30 p.m. while Central Lafourche (4-4) will host Haynes at 4 p.m.

In New Orleans East, Abramson Sci Academy moved to 3-0 but it was not easy.

The Commodores dropped the first two sets before staging a spirited rally to overcome M.L. King Charter 22-25, 22-25, 27-25, 25-22, 15-4.

The same two teams will meet next Tuesday at King.

The Jaguars (1-2) are back in action today, on the road at Livingston Collegiate at 4:30 p.m.
