Volleyball: Chalmette, Patrick Taylor, Hannan among winners Thursday
Area Prep Volleyball Report for Friday, Sept. 1
Chalmette is off to a good start to the volleyball season. The Owls defeated Crescent City Christian 25-15, 25-18, 25-16 at home Thursday.
Gabrielle Landry had 12 kills, served three aces and had two blocks while JoDee McMichael finished with 11 kills, four aces and two blocks. Cecilia Higgins had nine digs and Alivyah Peters dished up 23 assists.
Chalmette (2-0) will host Ponchatoula next Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. The Pioneers (1-2) return to action next Tuesday at Ursuline Academy at 5:30 p.m.
Patrick Taylor opened its season with a 25-18, 25-13, 25-10 win over Fisher at home.
Junior Cecilia Veters had nine kills and served six aces and had three digs and junior Madison Barth had six kills, seven assists and two digs. Senior Gabrielle Weber had 11 assists.
The Tigers will host West Jefferson next Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. The Gators will host New Orleans Military & Maritime next Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
Archbishop Hannan handled St. Michael 25-15, 25-11, 25-18 at home.
Sophia Bonnafee and Mia Phillips each had nine kills. Bonnafee added 27 assists and five digs while Phillips had 19 assists. Miranda Holicheck had 13 digs and Avery Lewis had 10 digs. Reese Foster had 19 assists and Bailey Bevolo added 11 assists.
The Hawks (2-0) will play at Northshore next Thursday at 5:30 p.m. while the Warriors (1-1) will host Dutchtown next Tuesday at 5 p.m.
